What impresses me about this Chapter is the boldness and clarity of Peter's words. It is hard to believe this is the same man who just 40+ days ago, denied knowing Christ due to fear for his own life. What a transformation! Peter's life is now Spirit-lead, and he is following the lead of the Holy Spirit. Peter is now in the center of God's will.
I wait for that same transformation. I would love to speak with such boldness and clarity about Christ to others. That is my prayer today.
verse 6, "Then Peter said, 'Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.'"
How many times do we give out of what we have? And if we don't "seem" to have what is needed at the time we don't think we are to be involved.
This man wanted money. Peter didn't have any. Therefore it would have been so easy to just walk on by. Instead, he provides for what the man really needs - healing. He is healed physically which opens the door for him to be healed spiritually.
Why do I limit myself in my generosity? It isn't about money. It is about recognizing the power of the Holy Spirit to act in us and through us to change lives for eternity.
I want to focus more on what I have, not on what I don't have. I have Jesus and I must offer him.
"Men of Israel, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?
Why is it that when God does something good for us that it surprises us ? Or why when God blesses someone else do we assume that they must have done something right to earn it ?
Power, Honor and Glory come from God and God alone. We should learn to recognize the blessings that God sends our way and help others recognize it to. We need to learn to Praise God as much as humanly possible.
