  1. Periods of obedience... and waiting. Noah's story speaks to me. God's goodness and His plan will be revealed... What a testament to obedience... and PATIENCE! Lord, today, give me the ability to be obedient to you, and to wait for your answers. And help me to keep looking for rainbows and doves with olive branches. You promised the seasons... and spring is coming! The sun is shining!

  2. verse 18, "So Noah came out, together with his sons and his wife and his sons' wives."

As I read that sentence I realize how powerful God's protective hand is. The entire world, everything living in it, was destroyed by a flood. And yet, this simple, righteous man and his family was saved in this boat.

I have lived through a hurricane and have seen the damage where we lived in-land. I cannot imagine what it would be like on the ocean. I picture this 40-day storm much worse than any hurricane anyone has experienced. But Noah was safe and he was saved through the water.

We aren't saved by the water of baptism, but it is a symbolic act of what God is doing within us to draw us to Him. In a sense I believe that the flood was a sybolic act of baptism to draw all of humanity out of the depths of sin and into the protective arms of God.

  3. "So Noah came out.... of the ark, ....
Then Noah built an altar to the LORD..."

Noah, and his family came out of the Ark, got all the animals out and then immediately worshiped God. What a reminder that everytime I experience something that I know comes from God, I should stop and worship right then and there. Not wait till Sunday, not wait till I celebrate, not wait until I tell others, not wait until I can be secluded, but right then and there.

  4. "As long as the earth endures, springtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease."

Honestly, the first thing I thought of when I read this verse was, "Thank you God for reminding me that spring will come!" Winter is a long and gloomy time for a girl who likes sitting on the porch, having the windows open, and planting flowers. I run out of energy as winter drags on, and things that I typically love become tedious and tiring. Even this morning, I watched the sun come up and lamented that it was too cold to be outside to enjoy the morning. But God has given me a promise! I can be refreshed knowing that though the winter may seem long and the spring far away, God always fulfills his promises, and spring, summer, fall, and winter will surely come.

  5. 22 "As long as the earth endures,
    seedtime and harvest,
    cold and heat,
    summer and winter,
    day and night
    will never cease."
God knows that we humans are sinners, but he shows his faithfulness to us by promising that he will never devastate the earth to that degree again. I need to realize that each day is a gift from God and pay attention to all the glory he has created around us.

  6. Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though [a] every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.

Every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. I think that statement right there shows us that we need God to change our hearts. We need him to help us grow. And what a promise, that God will never again destroy us !! His goal is that None would perish, Thank God for reaching me !!
