  1. "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever."

I find it interesting when God said the man has now become like one of US. Makes you wonder how many angels God already had with him then. How many times did God try things that were not documented. It makes me realize how powerful God is, and how inquisitive I am. It makes me want to study God a little deeper yet !

  2. verses 12-13, "The man said, 'The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.'

Then the LORD God said to the woman, 'What is this you have done?'

The woman said, 'The serpent deceived me, and I ate.'

This is all about sin and taking responsibility for our actions. I wonder how many times I have deflected my decisions on to the influence of someone else? I'm not perfect and I don't know what I would have done in the garden scene. I may have been just like Adam or Eve. I don't know what I would have done with the temptation.

I want to stand up for what God desires for my life. I want to do the next right thing. There are so many things pulling my attention, my time, my energy. I have to stay focused on those things that God wants me to do. That's not always popular, but my life is not a popularity contest, it is an act of obedience to God.

  3. It amazes me how we humans have participated in the blame game from the very beginning. Adam blames Eve and God. You put her here and she gave it to me. Eve blames the serpent. From the very beginning we have avoided coming before God and saying, "I did it".
